Srini Sundarrajan: A Look into the Old Soul Eyes of a Photographer

Srini Sundarrajan: A Look into the Old Soul Eyes of a Photographer

Srini Sundarrajan, Katy

Many times when I see a photograph taken by Srini, my mind believes for a brief moment in time that I’m looking at a painting. His intense depth of field makes all of his images come alive. The colors are always rich and luxurious. His ability to capture incredible sunsets, night time shots, and taking that which is old and boring and turning all of it into a stunning image that you feel as if you cannot walk away or you will have stolen something from your experience.

Srini’s “The Iconic Katy Rice Dryers” photograph is a perfect example of his body of work. I drive by those rice dryers hundreds of times every year and barely notice them any more. But Srini caught the most perfect, almost unreal, sunset that brought to life the image and turned that which was dull into something to be proud that you get the privilege to see. I hone in on the tiny truck and I still believe it might be a painting.

He has a in relatively short period of time amassed a collection of iconic images that are Signature Srini. If I walk into an art show or gallery with a group of artists, it takes me no time at all to pick the Srini images. He has a brand of photography that even professional full-time photographers cannont achieve. He has an old soul for photography.
